Benefits of Zince 40: Download Fact Sheet
Zinc functions in plant:
- Essential in the synthesis of protein
- Promotes seed and grain formation
- Has a key role in plant maturity
- Required for regulation of growth and enzyme systems
- Transformation of carbohydrates
- Aids in respiration
Zinc can be deficient in:
- Sandy, low organic matter, eroded soils
- High soil pH
- High levels of phosphorus or areas of high applications
- Cold, wet or poorly drained soils
Symptoms:
- Interveinal chlorosis
- Shortened internodes
- With zinc being mobile in plants, oldest leaves affected first
- Formation of small leaves
- Mottling in broad leaf crops
Critical levels in plant and soil tests:
- Plant Tissue: parts per million (ppm)
- Critical levels at about 20-70 ppm
- Corn: 20-70 ppm
- Beans: 20-60 ppm
- Wheat: 25-40 ppm
- Soil Test: parts per million (ppm), 0-6”, Mehlich III extraction
- Deficient: <1.5 ppm
- Marginal: 1.5-4.0 ppm
- Sufficient: >4.0 ppm
Use Ultra Yield Zinc 40 for fall and pre-plant zinc deficiency prevention. Ultra Yield Zinc 40 is the product of choice for broadcast and band applications in a wide range of conditions.
- Water-soluble zinc at 35%. Zinc 40 meets university andindustry standards, which have set the minimum water-solubility target between 35% and 50%.
- Crop essential sulfur at 8%. All the sulfur in Zinc 40 is in the immediately available form of sulfate sulfur.
- Nitrogen content of 1% provides added dollar value to Zinc 40 and it is in the ammonium form, which means it won’t volatilize.
- Zinc 40 offers a lower cost per unit fertilizer versus Agrium Ultra Yield EZ20 and Agrium Ultra Yield Zinc Sulfate 20. Logistical concerns of economies of freight, warehouse space, and volume of product needed are addressed with a high analysis fertilizer.
