Are micronutrients necessary in my fertility programs? |
Absolutely. Adequate amounts of micronutrients are essential to achieve maximum yield and maintain balanced nutrition. Insufficient micronutrient levels, not only prevent target yield achievement, but can reduce the plant's ability to utilize the available macronutrients, reduce crop quality and delay maturity. |

Does granule micronutrient size matter? |
Absolutely. Evenly matched blending materials reduce blend segregation and improve product distribution regardless of application method. Research has determined that size differences between blending materials, of just 10%, have potential for segregation. |

Does micronutrient water solubility really matter? |
Absolutely. Granular micronutrients with low water solubility will not supply enough nutrients to the soil solution to meet the plants needs. In fact, recent university research has stated, that water solubility is the primary factor that affects Zinc uptake. The research further establishes water solubility minimums for Zinc, at a range of 40-50%. |

Should I be concerned about heavy metals in micronutrients? |
Absolutely. Recently, several states, as well as Canada, have established maximum heavy metal concentration levels in fertilizers. AAT has an established purchasing policy to ensure that raw materials and subsequent finished products meet current regulated standards. With the ever-increasing public concern for reducing non nutritive metals in fertilizers, care must be taken to supply your customers with products that are environmentally friendly. |
